Product Safety

§ 1. General information

This document contains general information on the safe use, storage and maintenance of products offered by ASERIS.

In relation to products designed, manufactured or placed on the market under the ASERIS brand, Aseris Wojciech Miler performs the duties of a manufacturer to the extent resulting from applicable law.

Products are placed on the market taking into account applicable product-safety requirements, including Regulation (EU) 2023/988 on general product safety (GPSR), where applicable.

§ 2. Information concerning a specific product

This page contains general information and does not replace instructions, warnings or safety information relating to a specific product.

Depending on the product, additional information may be provided in the online offer, on the product, packaging, label or in an instruction or information sheet accompanying the product.

Where product-specific information provides additional restrictions or precautions, that information should be followed.

§ 3. General rules for safe use

A product should be used in accordance with its intended purpose, description and any instructions or warnings supplied by the Seller or manufacturer.

Before use, check that the product is not cracked, deformed, delaminated or otherwise damaged and that it does not contain loose parts that may create a hazard.

Do not use a product in a way that may cause injury, choking, burning, damage to the product or another reasonably foreseeable risk.

A product that has been seriously damaged or may no longer be safe should be withdrawn from use.

§ 4. Children and small parts

Decorative products, jewellery, engraved items, letters, signs and standard 3D-printed products are not toys unless the description of a specific product expressly states otherwise.

Certain products may contain small or detachable parts, including beads, stones, pendants, spacers, fasteners, decorative elements or small 3D-printed components.

Where the size or construction of a product creates a risk of swallowing or choking, the product should be kept out of the reach of small children.

§ 5. Jewellery

ASERIS jewellery may contain natural stones, stainless steel, gold-plated or silver-plated elements, decorative and protective coatings, silver or other metals, resin, cords, wires, fasteners, hooks, pendants, spacers and other small components.

Jewellery should be used as an ornamental item in accordance with its intended purpose.

Jewellery and its components should not be placed in the mouth or given to small children for play.

It is recommended to remove jewellery before sleeping, bathing, swimming, using a sauna, intensive physical activity or contact with detergents, chemicals, cosmetics and perfumes.

If irritation, redness, itching or another unwanted skin reaction occurs, contact between the product and skin should be discontinued.

Decorative coatings, including gold plating, silver plating and IP/PVD coatings, may gradually wear during use.

§ 6. Natural stones and mineral elements

Natural stones may differ between individual pieces in colour, structure, transparency, veining, inclusions, surface and other naturally occurring characteristics.

Certain stones may be brittle or may crack as a result of impact, dropping, excessive pressure or rapid temperature changes.

A cracked or damaged stone should no longer be used if its condition may create a sharp edge or other injury risk.

§ 7. Resin products and components

Resin products and decorative components should be protected from high temperatures, open flames, strong chemicals and prolonged intense sunlight where these conditions may affect the material.

A resin component should not be used if it is cracked or damaged in a manner that creates sharp edges or detachable fragments.

Resin products are not intended for contact with food unless the specific product is expressly designed and appropriately prepared for such use.

§ 8. Wood, plywood and wood-based products

Wooden products, letters, signs, plaques, decorations and engraved elements should be used in accordance with their intended purpose.

Wood and plywood should be protected from open flames, sources of high temperature, excessive moisture, flooding and aggressive chemicals.

Wood and wood-based materials are combustible and should not be placed directly next to open flames or other ignition sources.

Natural differences in grain, colour, structure, knots and minor differences resulting from laser cutting or engraving are normal characteristics of the material and manufacturing process.

Thin or projecting parts may be susceptible to breakage and should not be excessively bent or loaded.

§ 9. Decorations intended for mounting

If a product requires hanging, gluing, screwing or another type of mounting, the mounting method should be appropriate for the product's weight, construction and the type of surface.

The mounting solution should provide adequate stability under the expected conditions of use.

Where mounting components are not supplied, the Customer should select components suitable for the surface and intended use.

§ 10. 3D-printed products

3D-printed products may be manufactured from materials including PLA, PETG, ABS, TPU and specialist materials. Their properties depend on the material, design and manufacturing parameters.

The surface may show visible layers, technological joints, minor irregularities and other normal characteristics of additive manufacturing.

A product should be protected from temperatures exceeding the range suitable for the material where this could cause deformation, loss of properties or other damage.

3D-printed products should not be used as protective, medical, safety-critical, load-bearing or structurally critical components unless they have been specifically designed, manufactured and described for such use.

3D-printed products are not intended for contact with food unless the specific product expressly states otherwise and the applicable requirements for such use have been met.

§ 11. Plastic products

Plastic products should be protected from open flames, excessive temperatures and chemicals that may cause deformation, weakening or damage.

Thin or projecting components may break under excessive force.

If damage results in sharp edges or loose fragments, use should be discontinued until the hazard has been removed.

§ 12. Personalised and custom-made products

Personalised products may be made according to an individual design, inscription, dimensions, shape or other Customer specification.

Personalisation does not change the rules of safe use resulting from the product's material, construction and intended purpose.

If the Customer's proposed design may create a product-safety risk, the Seller may propose a modification or refuse to produce the product in the requested form.

§ 13. Technical components made to order

Where ASERIS manufactures a physical technical component, its intended purpose, requirements and expected conditions of use should be determined before production insofar as they may affect safety.

The component should be used only within the agreed purpose and within limits appropriate to its material, design and manufacturing technology.

If the component is intended to perform a function affecting health, safety, structural integrity, significant load carrying or compliance with a particular technical standard, this requirement must be clearly specified before the order is performed.

§ 14. Cleaning, care and storage

Products should be cleaned in a manner appropriate to their material and intended use.

Unless otherwise stated, gentle cleaning with a dry or slightly damp soft cloth is recommended.

Solvents, strong detergents, bleach, abrasive materials and aggressive chemicals should not be used unless expressly permitted for the product.

§ 15. Damaged or potentially unsafe products

A product should not continue to be used if damage may create a safety hazard.

This includes in particular cracking, delamination, sharp edges, damaged mounting elements, loose small parts, significant deformation or another change that may affect safety.

§ 16. Reporting product-safety issues

Consumers may report a product-safety issue, accident, damage or suspicion that a product may present a risk.

To help identify the product, the report may include the product name or type, order number or purchase date, product or batch identification, a description of the issue and photographs if useful.

§ 17. Measures concerning unsafe products

ASERIS analyses information concerning product-safety issues, accidents and potential hazards.

Where there are grounds to consider that a product placed on the market may be unsafe, ASERIS takes measures required by applicable law.

Depending on the nature of the risk, such measures may include additional information or warnings, suspension of sales, withdrawal from the market, recall from consumers or other appropriate corrective actions.

§ 18. Updates to safety information

Safety information may be updated in connection with changes to products, materials, technologies, risk assessments, received reports or applicable law.

Current information relating to a specific product may also be communicated directly to consumers where required by the nature of the risk or by applicable law.
